Estes Park Vacation...Chapter 2

After a quick breakfast at the Hampton we took off on a short little adventure.  Just 5 minutes down the road was a duplex where your great grandma lived with her Mother and brother for a short time in the 1930's.  We quickly found the duplex and took some pics, then headed down the street looking for the church they attended that we have a little bible from that is inscribed "given to Mary Kathryn Fisher".  We found the church and even happened upon what might have been her school.  None of this was quite as interesting to the passengers in the backseat, but dad and I thought it was super cool.
We began the drive to Estes, going through Boulder to get there which was just gorgeous!!  We unpacked, and headed downtown for lunch...Pizza and some games!  Yum!
We finished off lunch with some window shopping and ice cream, that we sat and ate back by the Fall River.

Bryce's first souvenir...a Colorado Rockies rattler...yes the tail really rattles.  Your snake likes to "bite" all of us.

As we drove back into our little condo place call Black Canyon, we spotted a big Elk eating at the pond that our balcony overlooks.  He hung out for about an hour or so!  Bryce you are so excited to see a real reindeer!!  We played our new Uno Attack Game and watched movies the rest of the evening...we are loving Estes!
