Estes Park...Chapter 3....We got us some hikers here!

Good morning Rocky Mountain high!!!  It's a balmy 66 degrees here in the lovely Estes Park.  Yesterday we packed in the fun.  Everyone is settling in and starting to really relax....ahhhhh.  Ok kids, let's recap what we did on our first full day here...

The boys started their day very early with a walk/ bear hunt / fishing trip right here on the grounds to burn some early am energy while Mary Kate and I got ready.  The "hunt" turned up a bunny and chipmunk...which Bryce swears is a mouse.  Brock caught his first trout, which wiggled off the line as soon as he emerged from the water.

Next, it was off to Fun City...and boy was it ever.  We started with the biggest slide I have ever seen!  Then you boys and I did bumper cars.  Bryce, we totally rocked Brock!  After that, Daddy got a little bit wet doing bumper boats with Brock...we saw you trying to just "hang out" on the outskirts of the boats Greg....you could run, but you couldn't hide!  Brock hunted you down!  Bryce and Daddy flew on the race cars, and then I too a spin with Brock in the Cheerios car.  A few more slides and everyone started realizing how hungry we were...well, mainly Kate.
After a lovely PB&J lunch, our tired little campers need a change of scenery :)...we decided to drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park and check it out!  Wow things have changed...this once free activity is now twenty bucks to just enter the park!  We drove all the way to the top of a  mountain and once at the top ( almost 10,000 ft.) got out and went hiking at Bear Lake.  You guys loved this!!!  You threw rocks, and climbed on everything.  Bryce was hot on the trail of bear tracks (Daddy and I decided the only grizzly Bear out there was the kind of a Bryce variety ).  Brock was mountain climber extraordinaire...only having to rescued once :).  Easy going up....tough coming down!  We got a little video...you will have to watch the first few sec with you head tilted to the side...Daddy forgets the camera doesn't adjust to being turned...we love you Greg!

We finished up day three grilling steaks back at the condo and just hanging out.  After dinner, the boys went back down to the pond and Brock pulled out an AWESOME rainbow trout!  Brock you were so puffy and proud!
Kate - you have found your voice this trip!  The past two days you are happy yelling, talking and cooing...all smiles....when you are awake that is.  You have been the best little traveler ever!  I think you like vacationing!
