Estes Park.......Chapter 5......The Continental Divide

We woke up Wednesday morning with you and Bryce anxious to try out your new bow and arrows.  This was the toy souvenir that you chose to spend your vacation spending money on from both of the grandparents.  So far Brock has chosen a pair of sunglasses, the bow and arrow, a sweatshirt, and a book.  Bryce, you have chosen the snake, bow and arrow, a sweatshirt and a picture book.  It took some practice, but after about an hour and a half of you sticking with it, you both were shooting like pros!

Next,  Daddy took you both fishing down behind the Estes Park fire station....lots of people had recommended that this shot would be a place where you would both be able to pull a fish out.  It was super windy, so kind of tough fishing...Dad spent a lot of time re-stringing hooks!  Brock you have been using Uncle Andy's open reel rod that he used as a kid.  It's a tough reel to fish on and you act like you've been doing it your whole life!  Great Job!
While you boys were gone, Kate and I hung out, and got dresses.  When you got back we packed some PB&J and headed out to explore the Continental Divide and have a picnic.  The drive up was really fun and the higher we got the scarier it got!!  Looking out my side of the car you couldn't see anything but the little tops of great big trees so close I could reach out the window and touch them....with HUGE drop-offs and NO guardrails!!  Scary!  We went so high you boys were able to get out and touch the still melting snow!  At one stop off there were chipmunks everywhere.  They would run right up ( or on ) people and take food from them.  It was pretty funny...Bryce would look at them less than a foot away with the binoculars :).

On the way down we stopped so Kate could eat.  We stopped in a beautiful field and you boys practiced with your bows and arrows and ate your lunch.  Kate and I took a few pics and just hung out enjoying the beautiful 80 degree day and sunshine.
We ended the day hanging out back at the condo.  You boys had McDonald's on the patio. It's such a beautiful day.  Dad and I agree that this has been the most fun day yet!
